The drop boxes are in and ready to securely accept the completed ballots of the residents of Lackawanna County.

The Commissioners announced that the drop boxes have been placed in the following lobbies of municipal buildings along with the hours that residents can stop by to drop-off their ballot:

Carbondale Municipal Building
8 AM – 5 PM

Clarks Summit Municipal Building
8 AM – 7 PM

Dickson City Municipal Building
8 AM – 4 PM

Moosic Municipal Building
8:30 AM – 4 PM

Roaring Brook Township Municipal Building
9 AM – 3 PM

The Lackawanna County Government Center
8 AM – 7

The locations are safe, monitored by surveillance cameras 24 hour a day, and open Monday to Friday.  A completed ballot can be dropped-off at any of the sites. The deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot application is October 27.

As a final reminder, the polls will be open for those who wish to vote in person on Election Day (November 3) from 7 AM – 8 PM.

How to Vote By Mail

Once you receive your ballot, mark your ballot following the directions.

Place your ballot in the secrecy envelope and then put the secrecy envelope into the official envelope. Be sure to sign the declaration, or your ballot will not count.

Every county will have a secure drop box for your ballots.
Postage will be paid for ALL mail-in & absentee ballots

Election Day Reminders

Polls open at 7:00 am and close at 8:00 pm

If you are in line before the polls close, you are allowed to cast your vote

Request a provisional ballot if your name is not on your polling location's roster

Contact your county election officials if you experience issues at the polls

Election  Day

November 6 – Mail-in and absentee ballots (postmarked before 8 P.M. on election day) must be received before 5 P.M. by your county election office. The November 6th deadline applies to ballots that have been returned by mail ONLY. Ballots may NOT be delivered in-person to your county board of elections after 8 p.m. on election day, November 3.* * * *
