SCRANTON, October 16, 2018 – State Sen. John Blake (D-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Monroe) today released the following statement regarding the passing of state Representative Sid Michaels Kavulich.

“I am deeply saddened, indeed devastated, to hear the news of the passing of my friend and colleague, State Representative Sid Michaels Kavulich.  For the past several weeks I have been in denial as to the severity of his condition, believing that his strength and vitality would overcome any hardship.  I was wrong and I am so sad to lose him.“

“My prayers and my thoughts are with Sid’s wife Linda and their beautiful children Loni, Ariel and Zachary.  Sid was a man of faith.  He was a prayerful and pious gentleman of great wit and great passion for his job as a public servant.”

“I so much enjoyed working with Sid and bringing good news back to the people of Lackawanna County. Anyone who knew or associated with Sid was a better person for that experience.   He was a great and indeed, beloved, State Representative who worked very hard to address the needs and concerns of the people he represented.  This loss will be felt for many years to come.  I hope people will never forget what a wonderful person Sid was and that his great legacy as a public servant is never forgotten.  I will miss him dearly.”
